Schuyler County United Way Executive director Peggy Scott, left, with George Baldassarre, retired United Way executive secretary, and Sally Hill, recently honored as the Marie Bailey Volunteer of the Year. Baldassarre retired from United Way after decades of taking care of the organization's campaign finances. Hill was honored for her volunteer help at the annual United Way spaghetti dinner each October at the Montour Moose Lodge. Baldassarre and Hill were recognized at the September luncheon for representatives of the agencies served by United Way of Schuyler County.
The Marie Bailey Volunteer of the Year Award for 2007 was presented to Sally Hill, volunteer extraordinarire for the Montour Moose Lodge. Sally was presented with a United Way fleece jakcet and recognized for her efforts in contributing to the success of the annual United Way spaghetti dinner. The board also recognized and thanked George Baldassarre, past board member and executive secretary for over 40 years. He, too, was presented a United Way jacket and those in attendance gave him a warm and much deserved round of applause for his support of United Way of Schuyler County for so many years. Peggy Scott thanked last year's co-chairs David and Liz Waite and introduced this year's co-chairs Kyle and Ann Tuttle. |
